Johns Creek

Nestled between Alpharetta and Duluth, about 30 minutes north of Atlanta, Johns Creek is one of the city’s most affluent suburbs. Money magazine named it the 13th highest-earning city in the country, but that is just one reason people move here each year. Its excellent public schools, beautiful homes and neighborhoods, and access to some of suburban Atlanta’s most sought-after amenities are also major attractions.

Real Estate

The average home in Johns Creek costs around $300,000. Here, you will find a mix of swim and tennis communities, larger golf and country club communities, and some apartments. A few of Johns Creek’s most popular communities are Ammersee Lakes, Sugar Mill and Wellington.

Attractions and Amenities

Johns Creek and the surrounding areas are something of a golfer’s paradise. The famed Atlanta Athletic Club is located here. Golf Digest has called it one of the top private courses in the country, and in 2011, the PGA Championship was held there. Other private and public golf clubs in the area are Country Club of the South, River Pines Golf, St. Ives, and The Standard Club. Located on 46 acres of forest, the Autrey Mill Nature Preserve and Heritage Center is a wonderful place to enjoy the great outdoors, get some exercise, and learn a thing or two about the area’s history. For those who enjoy the arts, Johns Creek’s own Ludwig Symphony Orchestra plays shows throughout the year, and the Johns Creek Arts Center offers classes and camps for kids and adults, as well as art shows and a year-round gallery.  For shopping, head next door to Alpharetta’s North Point Mall, one of the premier malls in the country, and for dining, check out Johns Creek favorites like Stoney River and Pampas Steakhouse.
