Fall is here! Do you know what that means? Pumpkin and and spice everything! Sure, you can carve a pumpkin, paint a pumpkin, and even go crazy decorating with pumpkins — but my favorite way to enjoy fall’s favorite fruit (you knew that it’s a fruit, right?) is to cook it up into delicious and easy, sweet, and savory recipes. Each week during the months of October and November, I will be posting a new Fall recipe on my Facebook page for you to enjoy. Be sure to “like” my Facebook page to enjoy the full recipes.
Fall Fav #1: Caramel Apple Butter Snickerdoodles
If you’ve never eaten cookies with a caramel baked inside, you are missing out. They are truly exceptional. I like to pop them in the microwave for about 10 seconds to remelt the caramel and warm up the cookie. It’s just enough to make them seem like they’re fresh out of the oven.
Fall Fav #2: Pumpkin Mac & Cheese with Bacon
Another Fall Favorite Recipe is Pumpkin Mac & Cheese WITH BACON! I know throwing pumpkin into the mix may seem a bit odd. However, it pairs well with the cheese and bacon. What more could you ask for that a fall themed mac and cheese? By adding pumpkin, it gives it this extra layer of cozy flavor. I like it!
Fall Fav #3: Apple Cider Sangria
Apples are a fall favorite. You know what you can’t have without apples? Apple cider! You know what else? Sangria! Blended with white wine, apples, pears, and cinnamon this Apple Cider Sangria makes the perfect fall cocktail. Check out this tasty autumn libation.
Fall Fav #4: Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls with Maple Cream Cheese Frosting
It’s the perfect sweet to enjoy on a crisp fall morning. Everyone will love the rich pumpkin flavor of these cinnamon rolls.
Fall Fav #5: Sweet Potato Shephard’s Pie
Cooking up a hardy dish this time of year makes my heart (and tummy) happy. It’s hard to beat savory flavors that meld and cook all day. They warm you up from the inside out. While this recipe for Sweet Potato Shepherd’s Pie doesn’t take all day to cook, it’s perfect for cooler autumn weather.
Fall Fav #6: Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte
I know you’re probably in Pumpkin and/or Pumpkin Spice Latte (#PSL) overload right now, but in case you’re not, check out this homemade Fall favorite.
Fall Fav #7: Savory Pumpkin and Sage Soup
This savory spin on everyones go-to autumn gourd is perfect for an evening in the garden.
Fall Fav #8: Pumpkin Bread
Pumpkin bread is essentially synonymous with fall. Plus, it works as breakfast, dessert, and bread basket fodder. The best thing about pumpkin bread, though, is that it’s one of the easiest seasonal treats you can make. To whip up a loaf of your own, just follow the recipe below
Fall Fav #9: Creamy Pumpkin Spaghetti with Garlic Kale
It Fall, which means we can officially do two things: 1) start pre-holiday listening to Christmas music, 2) embrace mashups of flavors, textures, and colors in recipes… like Pumpkin Spaghetti with Garlic Kale!
Fall Fav #10: Frosted Pumpkin Cranberry Bars
But, I’ve saved the best for last. Want to know why? My last recipe combines Fall Pumpkin with Winter Cranberry to create out of this world desert bars. With tangy dried cranberries tucked inside and a creamy brown butter frosting, these mildly spiced pumpkin bars are doubly delightful.
